We seek an exceptional artist to teach in the photography area.  We are looking for a candidate who possesses experience with and conceptual fluency in various photographic practices including analogue, digital, and theoretical methods. This candidate would demonstrate the ability to work across disciplines and engage the units and centers across campus that have a research focus in related fields, new media, moving image, anthropology, political science, comparative studies, identity/gender/sexuality studies, or one of the many other fields of inquiry in the Arts, Humanities, and Sciences.  These research approaches should be reinforced through a connection to photographic history and critical media frameworks.


Qualifications:

MFA degree, 3 years of university-level teaching experience beyond the terminal degree, an active exhibition record, and creative research practice.  Expectations include significant photography-based background with commitment to conceptual inquiry and technical expertise as well as an active professional creative practice, including a record of exhibitions/presentations/projects beyond the local and regional level.  The successful candidate will have a commitment to teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses in an integrated studio structure and creating a critical and experimental learning environment within a public research university.  Previous experience in developing curriculum, mentoring students and serving on graduate thesis committees is advantageous.
